Transpacific Landfill OperationsTranspacific Industries Group (NZ) Ltd is involved with a number of landfill facilities throughout New Zealand, including Redvale Landfill at Dairy Flat, Rodney District and Fairfield Landfill in Dunedin which are owned and operated by Transpacific's Waste Management division. Redvale Landfill is one of New Zealand's premier landfills. It was the country's first modern engineered landfill to meet the standards required by the Resource Management Act. Further to this, Redvale has installed nine, one megawatt generators to produce electricity from the landfill gas it produces. Apart from servicing minimal on-site requirements, all power generated is exported into the national grid, providing enough energy to power the equivalent of 7,500 homes. Transpacific also has joint venture/consortium involvement in Whitford Landfill, Manukau City; Bonny Glen Landfill in the Rangitikei District and Kate Valley Landfill in Canterbury Region. |
