Where we have come from.
We are the country's largest and only fully integrated national waste provider; we're trusted leaders in reliably providing a full range of collection, recycling, treatment and other modern sustainable waste management services. We work with customers all over New Zealand.
Despite this, many people may think of us as a business that simply picks up and takes away their refuse.
We are much more than that. A large part of our business is focused on recycling, and we are always looking for new and better solutions that are going to best meet the needs of New Zealand.
We are focussed on the future of waste management
We will remain both the leader and a trusted authority in providing for the country's recycling and waste management needs.
Waste Management New Zealand will continue to set the bar in the use of environmentally sustainable technology. We'll take a pre-eminent role in showcasing modern, sustainable waste management best practice and providing sustainable services to businesses and communities.
We will continue to invest heavily in future sustainable technology, and be recognised as a valued, responsible infrastructure partner that attracts and retains the best talent and people a company vital to the industry.
How we will get there.
To achieve this, we will continue to follow the "Waste Management way" which is to do the right thing by our customers and the environment.
What does this look like in action? It means when the going gets tough, we'll be there. During the tragic Christchurch earthquakes, we were the only infrastructural utility service to keep operating 24/7.
We will also continue to show leadership; building awareness of the importance of modern sustainable waste management and showing our true value as a service company that meets a vital infrastructural need, and not simply a logistics one.
We will also raise awareness of the value and need for investment in quality landfill services as well as delivering the infrastructure to continue to manage and/or recycle New Zealand's current and future waste, in a modern and sustainable way.
