Impact on commercial recycling in Marlborough due to fire at Marlborough District Council waste sorting facility.
Due to the January 14, 2019 fire at the Marlborough District Council waste sorting facility, any commercial recyclable material – that is commingled recyclables and cardboard collected in 240L or 660L bins in Marlborough – is not currently able to be recycled.
In the interim, we are working hard to identify alternatives for processing this material, including single streaming this waste through our internal process. However, some material may be disposed to landfill. We may also be in touch with customers to change their collection schedule or service, so we can continue to process their recyclable materials until the facility is fully operational once again – which may take several months.
Please note that this only affects Waste Management Commercial Recycling Collections in Marlborough and not the council kerbside collection. If you have any queries about this, please contact our team using the form here.
There are currently no scheduled changes to regular collection dates at this time.
