Plastic recycling change

Kāpiti Coast District Council recently announced that from 1 July transfer stations and recycling collectors across Kāpiti will only accept plastics numbered 1, 2 & 5 for recycling.

It means from 1 July you should only place plastics 1, 2 & 5 in your recycling bin. Plastics graded 3, 4, 6 & 7 should go into your general waste.

There are no changes to other types of recycling that will be collected such as paper and cardboard, glass and cans.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. For more information visit the Council’s website.
