EV programme celebrated at national awards

Our EV programme has been celebrated for its excellence and innovation at the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport New Zealand 2019 Annual Awards Dinner held in Wellington on Friday.

The programme took out top honours in the Innovation in the Transport and Logistics Sectors category.

Technical Manager – Fleet Jitesh Singh and Project Engineer Kelvin Gordon were proud to represent Waste Management at the black-tie event, attended by over 100 leaders in logistics and transport.

Our EV programme, the largest in Australasia, was recognised as visionary and setting the standard for fleet electrification both in New Zealand and internationally.

We currently have 13 electric trucks and 63 EV cars in our light fleet, with more to be converted by 2020.

Congratulations to the talented team who developed our EV programme into the award winning success it is today.

Also, congratulations to the team behind Waste Management’s cyclist warning signs – an initiative also shortlisted for a prize.

Light up cyclist warning signs are a response to a large number of near miss incidents.
