Finalists for the Keep New Zealand Beautiful Awards 2018 have just been released and Waste Management is proud to announce that we are a finalist for the Most Sustainable Large Business Award.

The Most Sustainable Large Business Award honours New Zealand businesses, with more than 20 staff, who have achieved extraordinary results through an environmental or sustainability project in the past 12 months.

At Waste Management, we apply sustainability practices and principles throughout our business and, where possible, our customers’ businesses. Under our 2016 Sustainability Commitment, we committed to the following six areas of activity over the next three years: Waste Optimisation, Energy Efficiency, Research & Innovation, Community & Leadership, Our People and Reporting & Accountability.

Managing Director, Tom Nickels said “for us, sustainability is doing the right thing by the environment, by people – internal and external –  and by the owners of the company. It’s about people, profit and planet.

“We have lots more to do, but we are pleased to have been recognised as finalists in the KNZB awards this year”

Winners will be announced at the Beautiful Awards Gala Dinner, in  Auckland, on Friday 26 October. We would love to see as much support for Waste Management as possible! If you’d like to purchase tickets, the information can be found here.
