This past Friday, our was team delighted to have won the Most Sustainable Large Business Award at the Keep New Zealand Beautiful (KNZB) Beautiful Awards in Auckland.
The award recognises our positive actions and growth under our six focus areas of our Sustainability Commitment: Waste Optimisation, Energy Efficiency, Research & Innovation, Community & Leadership, Our People and Reporting & Accountability.
This follows the recent addition of our sixth electric truck to our heavy fleet. This rearloader truck was converted from diesel to electric and last week joined our Christchurch fleet serving Christchurch City Council residential customers.
KNZB have been a valued partner of Waste Management for over six years. In 2017 our sponsorship of their annual Clean Up Week contributed to the collection of a projected 67,104kg of unaccounted for community waste and $1,139,071 in community contribution.
We thank KNZB and look forward to continuing this partnership through future community projects.
